Hair today, gone tomorrow!

My hair is starting to fall out in buckets. I'm letting you know this way because some of you won't see me for a while, and it might be a surprise otherwise. I'm 25 pounds thinner (not thin - thinner) and soon to be bald, but don't be alarmed. It's still me. I've been telling Justin they will have to fatten me up with the pigs in the spring. That will be a nice problem!

A person should never be discouraged by baldness. Not when so many hairless people have made such an important impact on our planet. Here are a few of our hairless heroes:

Ben Franklin - One of the founding father's of the United States. Invented bifocals, the iron stove, the lightening rod and binge drinking.

Jean-Luc Picard - Captain of the Star Trek Enterprise. Boldly went places other people hadn't.

Professor Xavier - Leader of the X-Men and advocate of human/mutant harmony. Telepath.

Charlie Brown - Not a telepath... in fact, you really started feeling sorry for the guy after the 50th time Lucy pulled the football away.

Gollum - Fiercely loyal and quite the outdoorsman. Enjoyed hiking, fishing and smelling himself. Where would Tom be today if he couldn't do Gollum impressions?

Britney Spears - “Is this getting rid of the old and starting afresh?” asked Californian hairdresser Esther Tognozzi. “Yes,” replied Britney.

the Bald Eagle - majestic, powerful, bald.

The Passion of Joan of Arc - A French 1928 movie about the last hours of Joan d'Arc. Not sure if she was bald herself, but she was in this movie... so it must be true.

this one spot on my leg - yeah, bald. Not sure what happened there.

...and I could go on and on...

So you see, with this long list of amazing people that have changed the history of the planet that bald people can do great things.

Hope this helps.

Your nephew,

Bob

What an adventure to go bald, something we women are not usually privileged to know. It will be fun to see how your hair grows back - what color will it be? will the gray be gone? will it be curly or straight? I know you and I both have the natural curls so it would be kind of cool to try it straight. If my hair fell out, I think people would be surprised to see how bumpy my head is - I might have an alien look.

Joanne, I'm praying for health, strength and complete healing so that you can get on with all that God has for you and your family.

Thanks Bob! I shall try to keep up the venerable tradition and accomplish something or other. I've already done one heck of a lot of crossword puzzles.
